Who suits franchising?

Franchise Owners come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience. Running a franchise is conducive to a variety of transferable skills, including project management, marketing, operations and sales, and the franchisor is there to help if you need to boost any skill sets.Who suits franchising?

Franchise Owners can often choose where their franchise is based and many can be run from home, meaning more time to spend with the family and no daily commute. Franchising is also ideal for people who have lots to offer, but who would find the structure of regular employment unsuitable.

For young people too, franchising is an excellent way to launch their careers. A Coventry franchise was opened four years ago by Alex Newman former employee at our Recognition Express head quarters, and in his mid-twenties.

"Buying a Recognition Express franchise has given me a unique opportunity to become a business owner at such a young age. The market potential is massive, our product range extensive and the range of companies we access is huge. We expect to end our 3rd year at around £250,000 with a net margin of 25% plus and I am aiming for £350,000 in my fourth year."

Franchising is very much a two-way street where the franchisor can achieve faster expansion of his/her operation, make more money and gain a higher return on capital employed.

The Franchise Owner on the other hand gets a proven business system to include marketing, goodwill, training, support, trademarks etc to help them become a successful business person in their own right.
