A famous actor who's been a success in screen acting produced on both sides of the Atlantic, has this week been honoured with a trophy at the Evening Standard British Film Awards.
Britain's John Hurt was handed the Alexander Walker Special Award for his contribution to cinema, at the London Film Museum on Monday night.
The actor is best-known for his critically acclaimed performances in classics like Alien and The Elephant Man, but is still a big presence on screen by appearing in modern hits like Harry Potter and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
The plaque is the first of two for the 72 year-old Mr Hurt, who is also due to collect the outstanding contribution to cinema trophy at the 2012 Baftas, which take place on Sunday.
