A pair of firemen who work in the Midlands have this week been told they're in with a chance of receiving
trophies at an annual
staff awards show, for their part in helping poorer households.
Local news provider This Is Tamworth reports that Richard Walsh and Lee Sanders have been shortlisted for an award after they designed fire safety equipment to protect children at home.
The duo created their project in a bid to provide safety equipment in the homes of single parents and those on low incomes.
The MORE Staff Awards take place every year and recognises the heroes of the Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Richard and Peter are among the nominees in the Peter Harrison Award category - where they're in with the chance of winning a plaque for Innovation and Improvement to the service.
