The Newmarket racing venue has managed to bag 13 nominees in this year’s Stud and Stable Staff Awards - the winners of which will be announced at a glittering ceremony at London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel next month.

The Stud and Stable Staff Awards are considered the world's premier competition for racing's backroom boys and girls.

Racing magazine the Newmarket Journal reports that the winners in the world’s most valuable racing staff awards, will receive their awards from champion jockey Paul Hanagan.

Newmarket will be hoping for a repeat of last year’s success when David Bradley who is head lad for trainer Jeremy Noseda, got the trophy for employee of the year.

This year’s judging panel will be chaired by racing writer Brough Scott and includes former royal trainer Ian Balding and champion jockey Pat Eddery, who will collectively decide the workers who best deserve the plaques and trophies.
